One Mom, Three Children, One Dentist

Yesterday we went to the Dentist. Luckily for us the "Dentist" is Uncle Andy. I wasn't sure how Cailin and Colten would do,or how brave I was to take 3 small children to a dentist's office while I had my teeth cleaned too. I wish I had taken the camera with us because it was really cute watching my children take turns in the chair. Cailin went first and with her arms stiff at her side she opened her mouth as wide as it could go. She didn't talk, she didn't blink. Then Colten took the chair. He opened his mouth a little bit, had his hands on his chest and kept wiggling. When it was my turn Cailin and Colten were busy showing Kiley ALL the "prizes" they got because the were so brave. (I think they LOVE going to the dentist now. I wonder if Dr. Orton gives every kid that MANY prizes!) I didn't have a good dentist growing up so when I am in the chair I still get a little nervous, but really for no reason because Andy is a good dentist and hasn't made me cry yet! We all passed with no cavities. I think taking three children to the dentist is easier than taking them to Wal-mart!

The Carpenter's Cup

Do you remember on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade when they have to choose the correct cup to drink the water to have eternal life? That is how I feel about Kiley's binki choice. What binki do you think the cutest little girl would choose and never accept any other?
If you picked the plain old pacifier that the hospital gives you , then you are correct. Sorry I don't have a prize for the winner. Kiley is even starting to give it up already. I was a little happy about that since Cailin and Colten had a hard time giving their's up, but then I realized that I now didn't have an easy fix to console her! Last night she slept until 4am. I can handle that!

A Great Day for Sledding

The kids had a ton of fun with the Donnelly boys. This is Cailin and Colten sharing one of their saucer sleds.

We got our Cat Alma back from Nebraska when our friends the Bagleys went through Montana on their way to Washington for Christmas. We forgot how huge he really is. Maybe the Weavers just fed him good!
No little boy loves tractors more than Colten!
Kiley had her first round of shots. She did pretty good. She never got a fever but was fussy that first night.
Debbie Lunt gave Kiley some bows and things to wear. Who do you think also inherited them?!

Ten Things

I was watching the BYU channel one Sunday and Victor Somebody gave a great talk on 10 Ways To Daily Improbe Any Marriage. I believe ALL couples could use a boost to their relationship. So here it is. Another thing he talked about, and that we hear over and over is that we should regularly date our spouse. We've never done that, because our kids are so young and we don't know many dependable baby sitters, especially when we keep moving!

1. Say "I Love You"
2. Kiss or hug
3. Give a compliment
4. Meditate for 3 minutes on why it's wonderful being married to my spouse.
5. Touch goodbye
6. Touch hello
7. Share a personal feeling
8. Perform an act of service
9. Keep a promise
10. Provide surprises

The other day I put a note in Daniel's lunch box. I do this often, so this time I put it in his bag of chips so he wouldn't see it right off. He said he was surprised to see an oily purple paper in his chip bag and wondered "what the heck!" (He'd packed his own lunch that day, and didn't remember packing a purple paper!) The trick is remembering to do these small simple things.

Restore YOUR Smile!

My friend Jamie posted this on her blog and I loved it. If you have 15 minutes to spare, it will make you smile all day!
