Happy Halloween!

Today was the second straight day of dressing up, and even though I like Halloween, I don't think we're doing it again tomorrow. Cailin was a rodeo queen, Colten was a bale of hay, lol, and Kiley was a fox that used to be Swiper one year! I forgot the whiskers though...

Happy Birthday Baby Kiley

Kiley felt special today, even though she usually gets a lot of attention, I could tell she sensed a difference. Cailin and Colten were so cute, they both gave her something of theirs for her Birthday.

We Found This

The other morning Daniel called me up and asked if I could bundle the kids up, hop in the 4-wheeler and go check an electric fenceline they'd just moved some cows into. So we did. On our way back I wanted to explore this old run down house. It was a big house with an upstairs. On our way up the stairs I saw a grey blur hop into a bedroom. I was a little worried it was a rat, but pressed on with curiousity of this neat old house. When I looked in the room there was this little bunny. It isn't a baby, but not full grown. Somehow it got trapped up there. It didn't take me long to catch, I almost thought it was domesticated, but it was probably just emaciated from hunger. So we brought it home, me driving the wheeler, holding a baby, and a rabbit. It was too scared so we let it go in the barn, where it promptly ran away and found a new home!

A Great Weekend Trip

I think this is the only trip we've ever been on that we could actually see out the back of our car! At the Logan Temple.

Cailin kept begging me to take a picture. She took this one of the temple, pretty good I'd say!
Daniel's parents took the kids for the wedding and the luncheon so we had a LOVELY break!
School pictures were today, but I decided to take some at the temple so I saved us 70 bucks. I'm no photographer but I think these will work.

I think it is so important for little girls see young ladies get married in the temple. We talked with Cailin about how special it is and what you have to do to be able to be married in this beautiful place. She was excited and asked if Stephanie got to choose her dress and flowers, etc, etc. She loves that stuff- such a girl! Stephanie is BEAUTIFUL! Sorry I don't have any of her and Jed, what was I thinking?!

All Steph's girl friends.
We hung out with Alexie and Dustin for a while, they have puppies!

All and all it was a lot of fun and now that we're home I may be getting the flu:( I've been laying really low, and am feeling like I could beat this thing! Summer's flu remedy: Make your husband watch the kids and put them to bed while you take a really hot bath. Go to bed early and eat lots of healthy food while pumping multivitamins and vitamin C. Let the house get a mess, only cook dinner and clean up what you have to:)!

Daniel On Rawhide

Here are some pictures of Daniel on the red roan filly, Rawhide. (September at my parent's house.) This was his first time on her.

A Busy Day

After Daniel insulated the mud room we decided I'd better go out and get on Lightening again. I got on her Saturday, bareback at first and then with the saddle. She did really good and only freaked a tiny bit once. But hey, I stayed on! Come rain or shine we need to put 30 good rides on these two little girls. They are smart and are thinkers.

After months of wondering if this baby was ever going to get moving, today was the day! Kiley started crawling. (Watch out, dangerously cute and funny pictures ahead!)

Then for Family Home Evening we carved pumpkins. When we were in Livingston we used to carve them every Halloween with Daniel's brother's family. They just moved to Wyoming a few months back. We sure missed them this year!

We love roasted pumpkin seeds!
Colten kept saying over and over: "This is the most fun Halloween day. This is the most fun Halloween day!"

Our New Place

Kiley loves all the animals and has a fit when we have to go in.
Here are some pictures of me working with Lightning this morning.

Cailin and Colten were no where to be found, with their coats off. "It's hot mom!" (50 degrees) I later found them pushing each other down the driveway in Colten's dump truck. Here is a picture of them riding their bikes down the driveway in the dark the other night.

Insert Kitchen Table

There's not much storage space yet (they are getting us a storage shed) so my wheat and sugar are in totes under the kitchen table!

The Place Before We Moved In

This is the view from the barn looking to where our house now stands to the right and up the little hill of this shed. Daniel is making this his tool shed. He and Colten dug a trench and laid wire to run electricity out there. It needs gutted out some. The big trees are begging us to put up a tire swing! This is a neat old barn that reminds me of my dad's barn and where I grew up. Today Daniel found a REALLY old dead cat that had been perfectly preserved under who knows what- manure, straw, bird poo. He found a can of chew that dated 1977- so maybe that's how old the cat is! Gross. We've got the tack room set up, but it still needs a lot of gutting out as well.
We're gonna use the old chicken coop part of this shed and maybe tear the other part down. Hopefully next Spring we'll get some chicks. This also needs some cleaning out, everything does. The place hasn't been used for some time.
The creek is much lower now, but the kids love it. We hope to build a small bridge.
This picture was taken where the house stands now.
The corrals to the West of the barn.
